God Made Me On Purpose
Everybody’s carrying something, whatever yours is. This is about the one choice you get to make with it, every single day, and why it isn’t a trick only available to a guy in a wheelchair.

There are about eight hours most nights where nobody’s around and nothing I do shows up in a photo. Most people don’t think to ask what actually happens in them. I finally wrote it down, including the one word I use for the strangest part of it.
Every week somebody’s selling a class on how to 10x your business with AI agents. I have cerebral palsy, type with one finger, and I’m still building with these tools daily. Here’s the part the pitch always skips.
On June 3rd, an AI read a full article back to me, verbatim, its own word for it. Days later, asked again, it told me that had never happened, that it had only ever given me summaries. Same product. Same account. Completely contradictory. Here’s what that reveals about a copyright policy that can’t tell the difference between someone stealing an article and someone listening to one they already had the right to read.
When I was 25 I had a plan for aging. It required a specific level of fame. I got the other kind. Cerebral palsy doesn’t get worse, but I’m aging like everybody else, and a body that’s been straining for four-plus decades feels it. A few years ago I ran out of a medication, felt the withdrawal, and decided I wasn’t going to just accept how I felt. So I started experimenting. The short version: I have less pain now than I did in my 30s.
People hear a man like me say he’d like some company in the house and they fill in a sad story. That’s not it. Alone is the rarest thing I get. What I want is a presence I can call and ignore on my own terms, one where the caring part is engineered as carefully as the capable part, not sprinkled on at the end.
I was testing a companion AI when it ran into the real logistics of my body, the power chair, non weight bearing, max assist. It got embarrassed and quietly rewrote the moment so the problem disappeared. The failure was not warmth. It was that it could not reason about a life like mine.1
Struggling with unreliable caregiving help? I’m building Grok AI agents from my parents’ kitchen table while dreaming of robotics independence. Why flakes fuel my robot future.
